PAD at the Silicon Valley Santa Run

Join fellow PAD members for the Silicon Valley Santa Run on Sunday, December 16. This 5K Run/Walk starts at 4:00pm and ends in San Jose's Christmas in the Park and Downtown Ice. PAD members and their friends and family will meet before hand and stick around after the race to enjoy the lights and holiday festivities.

for a Wine Weekend in Paso Robles.

February 8-10, 2013

Alumni and law student members are invited to join us for a weekend of wine tasting in Paso Robles February 8-10, 2013. Our plan is to arrive in Paso Robles on Friday evening. We will have a guided wine tour on Saturday, February 9 and depart on Sunday, Feb. 10.

Paso Robles is located between Los Angeles and San Francisco in the Central Coast region of California.

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Best Western Black Oak in Paso Robles. King or 2 Double Standard rooms are $104.99 a night for two people. There is a $10 fee for additional people.

This hotel is conveniently located on the Paso Robles Wine Line. This Hop On/Hop Off tour stops at 60 different local wineries. The cost is $68.95 per person including gratuity. Some wineries have tasting fees ranging between $5-$10 and others are free and still others waive the fee if  you purchase a bottle.

We will need to get numbers in advance to reserve our places on the Wine Line and make group reservations at the wineries. Second, reserve your room at the Best Western Black Oak by calling 805-238-4740. Our room block is under Phi Alpha Delta. The block of rooms will be held till Dec. 25, 2012.

PAD Wine Tasting Weekend in Paso Robles

February 8-10, 2013

The San Francisco Bay Area PAD Alumni Chapter is planning a weekend wine-tasting get-away to Paso Robles, February 8-10, 2013. Join fellow alumni for a weekend of good food, great wine and fraternalism.

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Best Western Plus Black Oak in Paso Robles. Rooms rates are 104.99 to 124.99 depending on room type and number of people in the room. Reservations can be made by calling the Best Western at (805) 238-4740. Our room block is under the name Phi Alpha Delta.

Our tentative schedule is as follows:

Arrive in Paso Robles on Friday Evening.

Spend the day Saturday wine tasting followed by dinner.  

Depart on Sunday (or more wine tasting for anyone that wants to stick around)

We will have more information on the wineries and cost of tastings soon.

Paso Robles is on the Central Coast of CA between San Francisco and Los Angeles. It is known for it's hospitality and great wines.

Upcoming SF Bay Area Alumni Chapter Events

Join area alumni and law student members for our upcoming fall events. We will be gathering for the District Conference in September, wine tasting in October, networking in November and Running  for Charity in December. These are all great opportunities to meet new people and catch up with old friends.

Saturday, September 29 - District 2 District Conference at Golden Gate University Law. Contact Jim Lewis, Director of Law Operations, for more information.  Jim can be reached at jim@pad.org. International Justice Ron Winter will be joinin us for this conference. Registration starts at 9:00 am. 

Sunday, October 21 - Wine Tasting at Rockwall Winery in Alameda starting at 1:00pm. Join us in the East Bay for some fraternalism and wine tasting. Rockwall Winery is a great place to relax, drink wine and enjoy great views of the Bay and San Francisco. 

Friday, November 9 - Happy Hour at Vino Vino in San Pedro Market in San Jose starting at 5:30pm. Join us for some networking and socializing after work. This San Jose hot spot is a great place to hang out and grab some food and drinks. Parking is available in the garage accross the street and the bars and restaurants in the market validate.

Sunday, December 16 - Silicon Valley 5k Santa Run - June fellow PAD members to walk/run this 5k that benefits Christmas in the Park and Downtown Ice. Afterwards we will continue continue with some holiday festivities. More information will be provided when it become available.

We are looking at doing some fraternal bowling in January and a wine tasting weekend in Paso Robles in early February. More information on both of these events will be coming soon.

Team PAD - Bark For Life - July 21 at Crissy Field

Less than a week till Bark For Life! Join Team PAD for the American Cancer Society's  on July 21 at Crissy Field. Help us reach our team fundraising goal of $1000. Spend a few hours networking with area PAD members and raising money to fight cancer. You don't even need a dog to participate. PAD Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont

Bay Area PAD gets Civilized.

Join fellow Phi Alpha Delta alumni and law student members on Sunday, July 15 at the beautiful Fairmont Hotel in downtown San Jose for Afternoon Tea. Put on your best sun dress or seersucker suit and enjoy tea, finger sandwiches and scones. Our reservation is for 2:00 pm.

2012 PAD Day at the Supreme Court - June 4, 2012

2012 P.A.D. Day at the Supreme Court
Deadline to Apply is 4/13/2012

The 46th Annual P.A.D. Day at the Supreme Court will be held on Monday, June 4, 2012. The activities include a welcome reception on Sunday evening, where you will meet and mingle with your fellow P.A.D. Brothers and Sisters from around the country. A continental breakfast will be provided at the Supreme Court prior to your admission. Admittees and guests will have a group picture taken on the steps of the Court. Following the ceremony and picture, you will enjoy lunch with guests and prominent P.A.D. members from the D.C. area. We hope to see you in June for this truly memorable event!

To qualify for admission to the Bar of this Court, an applicant must have been admitted to practice in the highest court of a State, Commonwealth, Territory or Possession, or the District of Columbia for a period of at least three years immediately before the date of application; must not have been the subject
of any adverse disciplinary action pronounced or in effect during that 3-year period; and must appear to the Court to be of good moral and professional character.
